This is a marine species.
Holotype locality: Katitane, Otago Peninsula (D'Archino et al. 2018: 425). Holotype: R. D'Archino; 1 April 2011; subtidal on rocky reefs, collected at 5-15 m depth, on open coast, under canopy of Macrocystis pyrifera or other large brown algae.
