The type species (holotype) of the genus Sheathia is Sheathia boryana (Sirodot) Salomaki & M.L.Vis.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Sheathia longipedicellata (D.Hua & Z.X.Shi) J.-F.Han, F.R.Nan, J.Feng, J.P.Lv, Q. Liu, Kociolek & S.L.Xie.
