The type species (lectotype) of the genus Rhodoglossum is Rhodoglossum lanceolatum (Harvey) J.Agardh.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Mazzaella parva (G.M.Smith & Hollenberg) Hughey, P.C.Silva & Hommersand.

Adjective (Latin), little, small, puny (Stearn 1973).
