This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Protokuetzingia australasica (Montagne) Falkenberg.

[Storm Bay, Tasmania]; (Montagne 1840: 154) Holotype: Labillardiere; PC; Herb. Montagne (Womersley 2003: 376) Notes: This type locality of Storm Bay, Tasmania was first recorded by Ducker (1979: 20).
