Iridaea fissa Suhr
Iridaea fissa Suhr 1836
Iridaea clavellosa Suhr 1836
Suhr (1836: 340-341) described Iridaea fissa and I. clavellosa based on material supposedly collected at Cape Horn. Setchell & Gardner (1937: 227) and others have associated both entities with Gigartina stiriata from South Africa. Papenfuss (1964: 40) thought it doubtful that Suhr’s material was actually obtained at Cape Horn.
This is a marine species.
