Type locality: [Mexico]; Kalifornia-Golfen [= Gulf of California], [La Paz Bay], [Espiritu Santo Island, Baja California Sur, Mexico] (Woelkerling et al. 2005: 175). Holotype: collector not indicated but almost certainly L. Diguet; no date; no habitat data on type. TRH A20-1296; Hariot no. 5, includes slide 4 (missing) (Woelkerling 1998: 357). Notes: Isotype: PC (missing).

Type locality: Isla Espiritu Santo, near La Paz, Baja, California. (Dawson 1960: 46). Type: Leon Diguet, 1894; no date; Sublittoral bank along the west shore of Isla Espiritu Santo. Herb. Trondheim (Dawson 1960: 46). Notes: Isotypes are in Herb. Museum Paris and Herb. U.C.
