Type information
Type locality: "ad capitis Van-Diemen" (Storm Bay, Tasmania) (Silva, Basson & Moe 1996: 906). Type: FI (Womersley 1987: 347). Notes: Silva et al. (1996) recommend consulting Ducker (1979b: 20) for further information regarding the type locality of this species.

Origin of species name
Adjective (Latin), furnished with tufts of leaves or hairs.
