This is a marine species.

Habitat
A deep water species, 7-40 m deep (Womersley 1994: 235).

Type information
Type locality: Great Taylor Bay, Bruny Island, Tasmania (Womersley 1994: 235). Holotype: Shepherd; 7 February 1970; 10-16 m deep. AD A35158 (Womersley 1994: 235). Notes: Womersley (1994: 235) notes that there are isotypes distributed in "Marine Algae of southern Australia" No. 82. At 30 m depth ( Womersley & Norris 1971: 8).
