The type species (lectotype) of the genus Chaetomorpha is Chaetomorpha melagonium (F.Weber & D.Mohr) Kützing.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Chaetomorpha exposita (Børgesen) E.Y.Dawson.
