Type locality: Shangchuang Island, Guangdong, China (Tseng & Lu Baoren 1992: 25). Notes: Tseng & Lu (1992: 25) give the following data: growing on subtidal rocks, in February to March (AST 55-1027, 55-1191, 55-1193, 55-1202).
