Type Species
The type species (lectotype) of the genus Cladophoropsis is Cladophoropsis membranacea (Bang ex C.Agardh) Børgesen.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Cladophoropsis sundanensis Reinbold.
Type Information
Type locality: Near Utwa Village, Kusaie Island, Caroline Islands; (Trono 1972: 48) Holotype: E.G. Meñez; 7 July 1960; Reef flat; BISH; 586970 (Leliaert & Coppejans 2006: 667) Notes: Doty no. D23616. An additional collection, D21027 collected from Falas Is., Truk Group was also studied (Trono, 1971). Type locality: Utwa village, Kosrae Is. Caroline Islands (Skelton & South, 2004).
