Type locality: "Plage Monseigneru, Fort-Dauphin, Madagascar"; (Kraft 1977: 108) Holotype: [Sophie C.] Ducker; 11.x.1975; growing epiphytically on a species of Gelidium; MELU; 22200 (fig. 12 A) (Kraft 1977: 108) Notes: "Important to appreciate is that delivery of these specimens to the first author came at a considerable risk to Dr Ducker. Told by the government of the day that no biological collections could leave the country under penalty 25 of a lengthy prison sentence (she was made to know that two categories of people, botanists and missionaries, were regarded with particular hostility in that country), Dr Ducker secreted the two specimens in her brassiere and flew out, literally under the radar."
