Type locality: Bahía San Francisco, Esmeraldas, Ecuador; (Taylor 1945: 187) Holotype: W.R. Taylor no 34-484; 11 Feb.1934; Hancock Foundation; (Taylor 1945: 187) Notes: According to Dawson (1953: 149) Taylor’s no. 34-484 was in box 3616 and on slide 1470 in the former Alan Hancock Foundation Herbarium now at LAM. Type dredged from 5.4 metres’ depth off Ba. San Francisco (Taylor, 1945).
