Holotype locality: Cathedral Rocks, Rottnest Island, Western Australia (Huisman 1991: 118). Holotype: J.MHuisman & T.H.Rose; 25 March 1989; Growing on Tylotus obtusatus (Sonder) J. Agardh, at 10 m depth. Murdoch JH 183 (Huisman 1991: 118). Notes: Huisman (2018: 599) notes "The type specimen cannot presently be located at MURU, but it will be transferred to PERTH once found."
