The type species (lectotype) of the genus Tetraspora is Tetraspora gelatinosa (Vaucher) Desvaux.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Tetrasporopsis fuscescens (A.Braun ex Kützing) Lemmermann.
