This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Lepocinclis fusiformis (H.J.Carter) Lemmermann.

Type locality: Bremen, Germany; (Lukomska-Kowalczyk & al. 2019: 290) Notes: "Holotype: Carter 1859, pl. 1, figs. 15 and 17 Epitype: Figure 3l designated herein that supports the holotype (Carter 1859, pl. 1, figs. 15 and 17)" (Lukomska-Kowalczyk & al. 2019).
Origin of Species Name
Adjective B (Latin), fusiform; swollen at the middle and tapering to each end like a spindle; narrowly ellipsoid (Stearn 1973).
