Reichardt (2015: 145) notes that this species has been regarded as a synonym of G. longiceps (e.g. Hustedt 1930: 375) or as a variety of G. montanum or G. subclavatum (VanLandingham 1971: 1931). He considers it to be an initial or post-initial valve of G. coronatum. - (21 Aug 2015) - Wendy Guiry
