The type species (holotype) of the genus Chlorarachnion is Chlorarachnion reptans Geitler.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Lotharella globosa (K.Ishida & Y.Hara) K.Ishida & Y.Hara.

Type locality: Anae Island in Guam; (Ishida & Hara 1994: 353) Holotype: fig. 1, topmost cell: Dr C.S. Lobban; 12 February 1990; sea shore in tropical region; fig. 1 (strain GUAM) (Ishida & Hara 1994: 353, 351) Notes: Strain GUAM-2 maintained at TKB.

Adjective (Latin), round like a ball, globose, spherical (Stearn 1973).
