This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Erythrophyllum oblongifructum (Setchell) G.W.Saunders.

Type locality: Whidby Island, Washington, USA; (Setchell 1901: 124) Type: N.L. Gardner 56; 9 xii 1897; UC; 94395 (Setchell 1901: 123) Notes: Evidently cast up from deep water, attached to the stipes of kelp (Setchell, 1901: 124).
