This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Besa divaricata (Holmes) M.S.Calderon & S.M.Boo

Type locality: Shimoda, Shizuoka Prefecture, central Japan (Masuda, Zhang & Xia 1994: 168). Holotype: March 1894; BM (Masuda, Zhang & Xia 1994: 168). Notes: Collector: Saida, no. 61a (Holmes, 1896).

Adjective (Latin), divaricate, spreading at a wide angle (Stearn 1973).
