Type locality: Botany Beach, near Port Renfrew, Vancouver I., BC, Canada (Hind et al. 2016: 934). Type: K. Yendo; 6.vii.1901; TRH (Silva 1996-to date Notes: Lectotype: UC 341316 (specimen D), Yendo, June 1901 (Steneck & Paine, 1986: 224, figs 5, 8).
