Adjective (Latin), thin, slender (Stearn 1973).

This form was described by Nordstedt in 1888, but the status of this taxon is unclear for the moment. It is perhaps a form of Nitella gracilis and not Nitella australiensis. In 1889 Nordstedt described N. oligospira f. australiaina which perhaps has been mixed with the first. - (8 Jan 2010) -
