Type locality: Iceland, Langa River; (Index Nominum Algarum) Holotype: fig. 2C (Hildreth & Ahmadjian, 1981) : Higgins & Higgins; Stereocaulon sp. ; (Index Nominum Algarum) Notes: Phycobiont isolated by V. Ahmadjian & maintained at Clark Univ. & at Univ. Texas (UTEX 2236).
