Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Palisada thuyoides (Kützing) Cassano, Sentíes, Gil-Rodríguez & M.T.Fujii.

Type locality: New Caledonia; (Boisset, Furnari, Cormaci & Serio 2000: 393) Holotype (tetrasporangial): Kützing's Herbarium held at the Rijksherbarium; L 9995-1 (Boisset, Furnari, Cormaci & Serio 2000: 393) Notes: According to Millar & Prud'homme van Reine (2005: 542), the only sheet located was L 941,149-178 (ex herb. Lenormand; barcode L 0194036). No locality is given, nor does it have any Kützing annotations, only those of Lenormand stating 'Laurencia thuyoides Kütz'. It may well be from Vieillard's collections, but there is no real certainty

Adjective (Latin), resembling the genus Thuja (Neal 1993).
