This is a marine species.
Type locality: Black Rock, Sconticut Neck near Fairhaven, New Bedford (Jao 1936: 241). Type: 25 July 1934; Very abundant on Cladophora sp.. MICH (Jao 1936: 241). Notes: Type in C.-C. Jao collections and Herb. Univ. Mich., Woods Hole No. 275.
