Type locality: "This was first isolated by Dr [Mary] Parke (Bruce et al. 1940) from a sea-water sample collected at Port Erin, Isle of Man, and there referred to as Chlorella sp. Subsequently it has been found in the River Crouch, Essex [England]."; (Butcher 1952: 180)
