Type locality: Near Madingley (Cambridge) (Silva 1996-to date). Lectotype: fig. 32A in Pringsheim, d, c: Fig. 11 (epitype) (Kosmala et al. 2009: 474). Notes: Lectotype designated in Kosmala et al. (2009: 475). Epitype: Permanently preserved material from strain SAG 1224-25, deposited at the herbarium of the Biology Faculty at Warsaw University.
