Description
This variety closely resembles the type, but differs in having a linear sinus, approximately four denticulations on each side of lateral margins, four to six granules in the central area and lacking apical and supraisthmial granulis. Cell length 52-57 µm, width 52-56 µm, breadth of isthmus 8.8-13 µm, thickness 25-28 µm. Cells are medium in size, approximately as long as they are broad, deeply constructed in the middle, with a linear sinus. Semicells are trapeziform, apical margin is slightly convex and smooth, lateral margins are convex and convergent with approximately four denticulations on each side. The semicell face is decorated with a row of four to six large granules and many coarse scrobiculations below the apical margin. Chloroplasts have two pyrenoids in each semicell. The side view of semicells circular while the vertical view of semicells is fusiform and poles have acute denticulations.
