Nomenclatural notes
Even though J.Agardh may have had to hand a different entity to that of Hooker & Harvey (1845), as stated by Chapman (1979), the combination is still typified by Hooker & Harvey's materials, not J.Agardh's plants. Chapman has given a new name to J.Agardh's materials, Curdiea flabellata V.J. Chapman, but J.Agardh's Curidea coriacea, as a name, applies to Hooker & Harvey's materials regardless of what Agardh had to hand. - (9 Nov 2011) - M.D. Guiry
