This is a marine/freshwater species.

Type information
Type locality: on stems of grasses etc, in a lake of brackish water, called "The Little Sea" near Wareham, Dorset: Rev. W. Smith: also in freshwater ditches near Bristol, upon the leaves of mosses; very rare: Thwaites (Silva 1996-to date).
