Silva & Lipkin (2003: 380) note that "'Algues', pl. 2, fig. 3 (Fig. 7) was considered by Audouin (1826b, p. 249: 1828b, p. 86) to be a previously undescribed species of Digenea, which he named D. dichotoma, In fact, the illustrations in Savigny's Ag. 3 look exactly like thoroughly washed Galaxaura mgosa (Ellis et Solander) Lamouroux, a species that almost always is heavily silted in the field and thus does not resemble Savigny's figure.
