Type locality: In portu Genuae [Genoa, Italy]; (Athanasiadis 1996: 23) Type: on Zostera ; FL; Notes: According to Womersley (1994: 47) the holotype was collected at Cherbourg, France and is located in PC.

This is a marine species.

Habitat
Largely to entirely epiphytic; on a variety of algae and seagrasses (Womersley 1994: 47).
