This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Bostrychia tenella (J.V.Lamouroux) J.Agardh.

Type locality: New Caledonia; (Millar & Prud'homme van Reine 2005: 540) Type: Vieillard; L; 935,329-13 (barcode L 0055694) (Millar & Prud'homme van Reine 2005: 540) Notes: Type: Vieillard #2040. This specimen corresponds best with Kützing's fig. 26f, g and Kützing added an exclamation mark on its label. Possible isotype: L 939,271-64. Millar & Prud'homme van Reine (2005: 540) note that the locality Yaté (cited elsewhere) is not marked on the type sheet.
