The type species (lectotype) of the genus Cosmarium is Cosmarium undulatum Corda ex Ralfs.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Cosmarium pseudosulcatum var. bituberculatum (F.E.Fritsch & M.F.Rich) Coesel.
