Type locality: Hali. ad oms Guineae: Hb. Le Normand!; (Agardh 1854: 110) Notes: "Ad Deless. Leprieurii proxime accedit, at isthmis omnino filiformibus et forma articulorum diversa videtur." So probably a Caloglossa.

Adjective (Latin), resembling the genus Opuntia.
