Type locality: "On the western coast of New Holland. Mr. Menzies." [King George Sound, Western Australia]; (Turner 1809-1811: 22) Holotype: BM; (Womersley 1987: 351) Notes: Silva et al. (1996: 716) recommend consulting Womersley (1967: 252) for more information on the type locality of this species.
