This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Mamiella gilva (Parke & Rayns) Moestrup.

Type locality: from 50-11N, 04-13W; (Index Nominum Algarum) Lectotype: fig. 1 in Parke & Rayns, 1964: (Marin, B. & Melkonian, M.: 307) Notes: Type culture: Plymouth no. 197; marine, isolated from sea-water sample at surface (INA).
