General environment
This is a freshwater species.

Description
As in the genus. Biflagellated motile cell small, 6-11 microns in length and 5-10 microns in width. Epitheca exceeds hypotheca, hypotheca slightly compressed ventrally on right side. Cingulum displacement descending, about one cingular width. Angle of 6" dependent on cingulum displacement.

Holotype locality: Talleyrand, St. Johns River, Jacksonville, Florida, USA (30º21'41"N, 81º37'16"W (Steidinger et al 2006: 954). Holotype: Fig. 1a (epitype) 1997; Estuarine waters. (Steidinger et al 2006: 954, 955).
