Type locality: "Punta Burica, [Pacific] Panama, 08.03042° N; 082.87574° W"; (Freshwater & al. 2017: 21) Holotype: B. Wysor and D.W. Freshwater PHYKOS-45556; 8 January 2011; attached to rock on mixed sediment-rock bottom just beyond breakers, 3 m depth, near Mono Feliz; WNC; 34263 (Freshwater & al. 2017: 21) Notes: Paratypes: WNC 34264, herbarium specimen and two slides (WNC 2012-s071, WNC 2012-s072).
