Type locality: Manthelan (Indre-et-Loire), France (Woelkerling 1998: 386). Holotype: Michelin; date not indicated; PC Michelin 201, General Herbarium box collection (fossil; filed in non-geniculate coralline type collections cabinet under basionym) (Woelkerling 1998: 386).
This is a fossil species seemingly without extant populations.
Origin of species name
Adjective (Latin), like a cluster of grapes (Stearn 1973).
