Type Species
The type species (lectotype) of the genus Callithamnion is Callithamnion corymbosum (Smith) Lyngbye.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Pleonosporium japonicum Itono.

Adjective (Latin), provided with a pedicel, pedicelled (Stearn 1973).
