Taxonomic notes
Misidentified on the coast of Israel as Codium dichotomum, this is the most common species in this area. It may be an adventive species. - (20 Jul 2015) - M.D. Guiry

Distributional notes
This species has been introduced into the Mediterranean (Verlaque et al. 2015: 273) being first found at Israel prior to 1955, probably by shipping and/or aquaculture activities. It is now widely distributed on the Levantine and N African coasts, but is infrequent. - (6 Nov 2015) - M.D. Guiry

Habitat notes
In rock pools at lower mid-littoral levels on moderately wave-exposed shores and also at shallow sublittoral levels (5 m depth) (Tittley et al. 2009). - (25 Mar 2010) - Wendy Guiry
