Type Information
Type locality: Tiburon Island (south shore); (Dawson 1944: 249) Not specified: D. 686a; 17 July 1940; growing attached to cobblestones on rocky shore; (Dawson 1944: 249) Notes: Dawson (1944:249) notes that “it is unfortunate that most of the specimens of this collection were lost on the return open-boat voyage to the mainland. Only a single plant lacking the holdfast was saved. Field notes, however, verify the recollection that the holdfast is as described..., and this is substantiated by a mature specimen with holdfast among J. Wyatt Durham’s material... from a bay 10 miles N.W. of Guaymas, October 30, 1940.”
