Type Species
The type species (holotype) of the genus Janczewskia is Janczewskia verruciformis Solms-Laubach.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Laurencia ramiformis (C.F.Chang & B.M.Xia) M.Preuss, Diaz-Tapia, Verbruggen & Zuccarello.

Type locality: "Parasitic on Laurencia okamurai Yamada, on rock pools in the moddle and lowere littoral regions, Shilaoren, Qingdao, Shandong Province, China"; (Chang & Xia 1978: 127) Holotype (tetrasporic): 2.v.1964; parasitic on Laurencia; rock pools in middle and lower littoral regions; Herbarium of Academia Sinica, Tsingtao; 64-604 (tetrasporic) (Chang & Xia 1978: 127) Notes: "AST" is not the correct herbarium abbreviation.
