Type Species
The type species (holotype) of the genus Haslea is Haslea ostrearia (Gaillon) Simonsen.

Type Information
Type locality: French Mediterranean coast in the area of Boulouris, France (43° 2' 45" N, 6° 47' 42" E); (Gastineau & al. 2016: 160) Holotype : sandy beaches of rocky coves, frequently associated with Padina sp., at depths less than 0.5 m; Danish Natural History Museum; C-A-92077 (slide with acid cleaned embedded material of strain K-1343) (Gastineau & al. 2016: 160, fig. 2) Notes: Isotypes: SEM stub with acid cleaned valves of strain K-1343, deposited in the Danish Natural History Museum under the accession numbers C-A-92077 and C-A-92078 (figs 4-9).
