Type locality: "Northwest of Andros Island, The Bahamas ... at a depth of 5.2 m. Sample consisted of benthic marine macroalgae and seagrasses collected on 16 August 1992 by Dr Lisa Robbins (USGS St. Petersburg Coastal & Marine Science Center, Florida) on board RV Bellows."; (Hein & Lobban 2015: 78) Holotype: ANSP; ANSP-GC16010 (Hein & Lobban 2015: 77, fig. 2a, b) Notes: Holotype.
