Type Species
The type species (lectotype) of the genus Delesseria is Delesseria sanguinea (Hudson) J.V.Lamouroux.

Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Hypoglossum revolutum (Harvey) J.Agardh.

Lectotype locality: King George Sound, Western Australia; (Silva & al. 1996: 459) Lectotype: TCD, Herb. Harvey; Trav. Set 311 (Womersley 2003: 43) Notes: This type locality was first recorded by Womersley & Shepley (1982: 326).
