Type Information
Type locality: [Unknown, probaly NE Atlantic]; (Linnaeus 1759: 1345) Lectotype (designated by Roberts 1968): LINN; 1274.12 (Molinari & Guiry 2020: 7, 8) Notes: Robserts (1968: 256) effectively lectotypified this name: "In the Linnaean Herbarium there are two sheets (1274: 12, 13) labelled F. selaginoides, possibly in the handwriting of Solander (Savage, 1945: 200). Of these, Sheet 12 is undoubtedly the type of Linnaeus’s species as it has ‘D’ written on it by Linnaeus, the letter which he assigned to the new species F. selaginoides in the Systema Naturae, edition 10 (p. 1345; 1767b: 134)."
