Type locality: Italy: Zaule; (Index Nominum Algarum) Lectotype: an individual on preparation 1603 in Grunow Coll. in W, represented by illustration in Krammer (2002 fig. 25: 13), fide Da Silva 2015: W; an individual on preparation 1603 (Index Nominum Algarum) Notes: According to Blanco (2016: 110), the holotype is pl. 9, fig. 28 in Schmidt et al. (1874-1959) and not the preparation 1603 in the Grunow Collection (W).
