Type locality: Lake Kalakuli, Eastern Pamir Mountains, Xinjiang-Uygur province, NW China (38°26'51"N, 75°03'54"E; (Rioual et al. 2020: 70) Holotype: Holotype: Hustedt slide 067/17; 3661 m a.s.l.; (Rioual et al. 2020: 70) Notes: Neotype from sediment sample collected from Lake Sate Baile Dikuli, 3650m a.s.l., 38°27'52"N, 75°02'6"E, collected in 2013 by Dr Fei Zhang; specimen on slide IGGDC-XKL-60 (figs 19, 20), in IGG-CAS Diatom collection, Beijing. Tibet: Pamir: near Kara-kul (INA).
